Houston, Texas, OOH (Billboard) Media Sales – This is NOT a remote or hybrid position.
Location: Houston (Katy), TX 77450
JGI Outdoor Advertising looking to hire an Account Executive (sale person) who can take-over a large pre-existing Houston territory, and we’d sure like to hear from you, especially if you have Advertising Agency experience in Houston as a Media Buyer, Media Planner, Media Account Executive, or Media Account Supervisor/Manager.
WHO WE ARE:
JGI Outdoor Advertising is a small, well-established 30-year-old Billboard Company.  We are a privately owned (original founder/owner) company that is very fun to work for with a “low drama” congenial familial culture. Corporate based in Houston, (Katy) TX , we own  lots  of billboards throughout Texas, Louisiana, and New Mexico, with locations in twelve (12) DMAs.
 
WHAT’S THE JOB:
This is a very unique  OOH Media Sales/ Account Executive  immediate- hire opportunity. You will NOT start with zero active accounts, nor will you be assigned the leftover territories. Quite the contrary. You will become part of an experienced 7-person Sales Team and be trained to take-over, manage, maintain, & grow a large, pre-existing, “book of business” of a territory comprised of well-known local and national businesses and advertising agencies, because the current AE is retiring in 2023.
 
HOW:
You will shadow the soon-to-be-retiring, Senior Account Executive for an approximate 6–8-month period  during which time you will learn to confidently:

        BUILD strong agency and client relationships with existing and new clients via the phone, email and in-person.
        DEVELOP a thorough understanding of JGI Outdoor and our operations.
        IMMERSE yourself in the OOH Industry- you’ll love it!!!
        FINE-TUNE your billboard creative acumen because you will be advising your clients about their creative.
        MASTER the locations of our billboards within the Houston and Beaumont/Port Arthur territories by “driving the market” alone and with the Senior Account Executive.
        Lovingly and protectively EMBRACE this large book of business as if it were your own.

 
THEN WHAT:
At periods end, the “seasoned” Account Executive will retire, and you will confidently:

         Take “ownership” of this large multi-million-dollar book of business.
        Be directly responsible for retaining, growing, and expanding YOUR customer base in the territories encompassing the Houston, TX 23-County DMA region and the Beaumont/Port Arthur, TX 7-County DMA region, for the duration of your lengthy employment.
        NOTE: This desk is supported by a superb, experienced Sales Assistant whose sole role is to support only the AE handling this desk.

 
WHAT WE DESIRE:

        A  Bachelor’s Degree in Advertising, with Advertising Agency Experience  as a Media Buyer, Media Planner, Media Account Executive, or Media Account Supervisor/Manager is  strongly preferred.
        No OOH sales experience is desired because we do things differently than the national OOH companies.  Instead we want a candidate who has strong desire and skillsets to maintain, grow (sell), and develop our client and agency accounts successfully.
        Big egos not welcome.

 
WHAT WE REQUIRE:

        Great personality.
        Easy-going professionalism.
        Strong communication skills (oral and written).
        Comfortable familiarity driving Houston area Freeways, Roads and Neighborhoods.
        Current Long-time resident of the Houston/Galveston/Sugar Land/Woodlands region is required.
        Love of advertising.
        Strong math and analytical skills.
        Knowledge of basic/ standard OOH concepts and formats, and computer skills (MS Word, 365, Excel, PowerPoint).
        Willingness to share your “learned”  marketing analytics, and methodologies expertise with your JGI sales colleagues.

        Current and Valid Texas Driver’s License and personal vehicle required.

        Office located in Katy, TX (suburb of Houston, TX). It’s our own office building and parking is free.
        No overnight travel required.
