Madison, Wisconsin, Job Summary: The Director of Marketing & Communications, Health and Wellbeing, will lead communications for the health and wellbeing theme area within Student Affairs, which is comprised of University Health Services (UHS) and University Recreation & Wellbeing (RecWell). The health and wellbeing theme area is focused on connecting all students to primary prevention programming, world-class recreation and wellbeing, and evidence-based practices to support their overall health and wellbeing. The position will report to the Chief of Staff for Health and Wellbeing. The Director will collaborate closely with communicators across Student Affairs and with campus partners to amplify the strategic priorities and initiatives of directors at UHS and RecWell. The Director will have oversight of two dynamic teams whose aim is to share effective, relevant, timely, and accurate public health and wellness content for the UW Madison campus community. In an evolving shared service collaboration, the Director will also lead the integration of Marketing and Communications teams of UHS and Rec Well, where each unit will remain autonomous while improving strategic alignment and efficiencies to advance student health and wellbeing. Direct reports from UHS include a graphic designer, two communications specialists, a multimedia designer (video and photography); and from Recreation & Wellbeing, an Assistant Director of Marketing, who supervises a multimedia designer and communications specialist. University Health Services (UHS) at The University of Wisconsin Madison celebrated its 110-year anniversary in December 2020. UHS has been voted, by students and The Princeton Review, a top student health center for the previous five years. An integrated health center, UHS provides high-quality care to more than 100,000 annual clinical visits, including medical and mental health services. In a typical year, more than 50 percent of 48,000 students use our clinical services.
